Remote Learning Schedule

REMOTE LEARNING BEHAVIOR:

Please remember that expectations for student behavior still apply whether you are in a classroom online or on campus.   It might be a good idea for parents and students to review the Google Meet Guidelines and Expectations document and the SRVUSD Technology Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

Families are encouraged to have an open discussion about digital etiquette and responsible technology use- both for schoolwork and in general.   Common Sense Media is updating this website for parents as we adjust to this new learning environment.  Together we will develop new skills such as digital citizenship.

More information on all of these topics can be found at the SRVUSD Remote Learning & Student Support Website. We appreciate your support and Go ‘Stangs!

REMOTE LEARNING:  Work will be posted for each “class period” and may include a live classroom or pre-recorded lesson, so if a student has work or other commitments, they can access at a different time. The schedule is meant to create a daily schedule and ensure that students are not double-booked in courses. Teachers will also have three hours of office sessions per week when they will be available for one on one or small group work. Teachers will post their class assignments and share their office hours by Wednesday morning. Students should email their teacher if they have any questions.

GRADING:  As noted in my previous letter and from our District’s communications, we will be utilizing a P / NM grading system. Students must receive a Pass grade in order to earn credit for a course, so students need to participate in their classes. In this system, feedback becomes very important, so I ask that our students pay attention to details and take advantage of the opportunity to master each course’s essential standards and outcomes. This practice is in use in similar school districts and colleges and universities have adjusted their admissions policies in order to accommodate students who receive P grades.
