Senior Yearbook Ad

Families of seniors: Print out the yearbook ad flyer in the Locker to the left for all the details you need.  Please check it out and let me know if you have any questions. Remember, if we run out of ad space we may not be able to fit your photos, so don’t delay!

Graduation is a memorable experience; therefore, we ask that you communicate the importance of maintaining appropriate behavior with your student. The following is prohibited:  altering the caps and/or gowns, balloons, beach balls, water guns, or any other device that may interfere with the ceremony. The Class of 2019 is a fantastic group of students! We do not anticipate any concerns.

 

SENIOR CHECK OUT:  Seniors complete a check-out form to make sure all the necessary steps are done before graduation.  Forms are distributed in May during Gov/Econ classes.  In order to participate in Graduation Rehearsal and Ceremony, seniors must complete check out and get a ticket from Admin Office.  Get it signed off early to avoid lines! 

 

GRADUATION PRACTICE Thursday, May 30  1pm  Seniors get a ticket to attend practice by completing the senior checkout process.  Seniors are to be in the large gym by 1pm to receive information about graduation.  Seniors must attend practice to participate in the ceremony. 

 

GRADUATION CEREMONY Friday, May 31 @ 6 pm in Sam Zackheim Stadium.  At 5pm graduating students are to return to assigned rooms dressed in caps and gowns. The ceremony usually lasts about 90 minutes. 

  • Visitor Seating arrangements are on a first come, first serve basis.  No tickets are issued.  The gates open at 4pm.
  • Parking is available in both student lots.  Please park in designated parking stalls only. The horseshoe and staff lot will be closed. 
  • Disabled/Seniors needing assistance may park in the designated area close to the tennis courts with a Disabled Person Parking Placard.  
  • Disabled/Senior seating:  There is limited seating on the field available for guests with the disabled placard.  The disabled seating area is wheelchair accessible.
  • Shuttles:  There are no golf cart shuttles available this year for delivery to the field.  Should your guest need assistance getting from parking to the field please consider bringing a wheelchair. 
  • Please do not bring into the stadium air horns or other loud noise-making devices, large balloons or objects that obstruct the view of others, and beach balls or other items that distract from the ceremony.

MONTE VISTA STAMPEDE NEWSPAPER:   Parents- this is the annual newspaper featuring memories, post MV plans, pictures and more just for our seniors.  If you would like to send a message to your graduating senior we would love to feature it!   Each Send Off is $10 (checks made out to MVHS Journalism and mailed to Monte Vista High School, 3131 Stone Valley Rd).  Please email your messages, your name, and your student’s name to mvhsstampede@gmail.com.  Thank you!  -Monte Vista Stampede Staff

 

 

SENIOR SURVEY AND FINAL TRANSCRIPT REQUEST:  Seniors need to update the status of their college applications, complete the Senior Graduation Survey and Transcript Request via Naviance.  

 

CAP AND GOWN :   Your cap and gown will be delivered during Brunch and Lunch in front of the Main Office.  If you are borrowing a Cap & Gown please check in the Attendance Office. 

 

GRAD NIGHT BUS SIGN UPS  Seniors, are you going to Grad Night?? 

 

TEXTBOOKS:  Have you received a textbook notice?  Seniors if you want to get to Grad Rehearsal on time get it done and avoid the hassle- turn it in today.      Ms Phillips is in 520 during brunch/lunch every Monday-Thursday.

 

SENIORS DO YOU OWE CHILD NUTRITION?   Seniors must pay overdue balances before graduation as part of the senior check out.  Seniors may request a refund by contacting Child Nutrition.   Thanks for your support!    Belinda McDaniel, Department Secretary, Child Nutrition, Phone: 925-824-1808

 

SENIOR AWARDS CEREMONY & BBQ   All Seniors attend the Awards Ceremony in the Gym.  Scholarships and Awards are announced.  Senior BBQ follows in the Amphitheater.

SENIOR NOTICE FOR LOST OR OVERDUE BOOKS:   Seniors are receiving notice this week that they need to return past due novels or textbooks Delay in paying fine or returning books will possibly hold up your senior check out process. All books can be returned to the textbook room before 1st period or during brunch. 

 

GRAD NIGHT Friday, May 31 8pm   Grad Night is an all-night event sponsored by Senior Parents.

Graduation Ceremony Reminders and Dress Code
Please read through and be aware of the following rules and regulations associated with the Graduation Ceremony.
Dress Code: Graduation at Monte Vista is a formal event. Be proud of your time here at Monte Vista and your graduation from high school. With that, caps and gowns are to be worn as issued.
YES
 Dress shirts
 slacks
 dresses
 skirts
 dress shoes
 wedges
 tie and coat are optional
NO
 No flip-flops, high heels/stilettos
 No t-shirts or shorts
 No tuxedos
 No exterior decorations (flowers, signs, leis, anything that might distract from the formal event)
 No jeans
 No hats

 

Miscellaneous

  • Graduation is usually a warm to hot day, please dress accordingly.
  • Students MUST participate in rehearsal if they plan to march in the ceremony.
  • Students will sit in alphabetical order
  • Any possession or use of alcohol/drugs during rehearsal or the ceremony will result in the student being removed from graduation and his/her diploma being mailed at a later date.
  • No cell phones, beach balls, horns, noise makers, etc.
  • Students involved in misbehavior at rehearsal or the ceremonies will be removed from graduation by Danville PD and their diplomas may be picked up in the office beginning June 4, 2018.
