ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS CLUB  Meeting Thursday, 11/29 at lunch in Room 423.  We will provide status update. 

 

Pizza at Interact Meeting this Thursday 11/29  Please join us in Mrs. Kerr's room (524) during lunch this Thursday as we write thank you letters to our servicemen and women, begin our famous Adopt-an-Angel service project, collect clothing for our Warm Coat Drive, and eat free pizza! Dodgeball!   Get ready MV to dodge, duck, dive and dodge!  Get into training because December 3rd to December 6th is Dodgeball week! The first 16 teams of 8 students that are registered for DODGEBALL will be competing in the gym during lunches.   

 

CALIF HEALTHY KIDS SURVEY (CHKS) is one of three surveys for the California School Climate, Health and Learning Surveys (CalSCHLS) system.  Please keep in mind: 

  • All surveys are anonymous. Survey takers do not have to respond to any questions that they believe could identify them.  Simply skip that question. 
  • All questions apply to just our school and the summary results are for the use of the district and school.
  • Survey participation is voluntary; however, it is also very important.

PARENT ED:  The Novus Project, Thursday, November 29th, 6:00-7:30PM IHMS MPR  Does your teenager “live” on social media? Are you aware of all the apps/sites or content your child may be exposed to?   Iron Horse Middle School is hosting a Parent Ed night that focuses on statistics regarding adolescent development and social media/the internet. They will also provide insight on how to help ensure your kids are safe online and what some red flags are that you can be looking for.   All SRVUSD parents/guardians are welcome!

 

FROSH SOCKS FOR HOMELESS: 
The Class of  '22 wants give back by trying to help the homeless in San Francisco. New socks are the most needed items at homeless shelters, yet among the least-often donated. We are collecting items NOW in the Health and World Geo classes or the Leadership room. See lists posted for additional items.  By Friday, November 30th.  

We have so many donations being collected now for our hurting world.  To keep these straight…

Coats should go to the bin in counseling for the Interact Warm Coat Drive by 12/14.
Socks and additional items to Health/World Geo/Leadership by 11/30. 

 

MV Website Changes:  All schools in the district are converting websites to a new template.  Monte Vista will be converting by the end of November.  Search bars, documents, pages will be changing to meet the new design.  Thanks in advance for your patience.   

 

Baseball Meeting:  New baseball coach Mateo Miramontes is hosting a meeting Wednesday 12/5 at lunch in the large gym for all new and returning players interested in the baseball program. It’s an opportunity to meet the coach and hear specifics about upcoming tryouts as well as answer any questions

 

CLASS OF 2021:  Hey you! Dine in or take out at Panda Express  Friday, November 30th, Monday- Wednesday 3rd 4th and 5th from 4pm-10pm at the CROW CANYON LOCATION! You must show the flyer to the cashier in order to make your order count. Pick up flyers at an English 10 classroom or outside the Leadership Room. See you there!

PSAT Follow up    Look for results posted through the CollegeBoard website beginning on DECEMBER 12, 2018.  We will be handing out a paper copy of your results along with your original test booklet after the holiday break

 

PARENTS OF SENIORS:  Don't forget to get your senior ad in to the Yearbook! You'll be creating your own, so that way your student knows it's made with love. Check out the attached flyer for information, and contact Ms. Jennie Drummond with any questions you might have. The price goes up on November 11, so get them in quickly!
