What is the best part of your job:  The best part of my job is being forded the opportunity to help shape and guide students today in preparation for their futures.

Tips for success at Monte Vista: Work hard, don’t take the easy way out.  Challenge yourself, and reach for the moon, be kind and gracious and make a positive difference in someone else’s life.  Be courageous and take the road less traveled and sit by someone new at lunch.

Tell us something about you:  In my former life I was a 3 sport college athlete and a high school Spanish teacher.  Today, I am a family and community oriented person and I am excited to be a part of the MV community.  I enjoy spending time with my sons, everything outdoors and being a lifelong learner!

What is the best part of your job:  I love my job.  I always wanted to be a counselor and work with teenagers and absolutely love what I do.  I enjoy getting to know my students and helping them navigate high school and the ups and downs to being a teenager J

Tips for success at Monte Vista:  Ask questions, use a planner, and get involved.  Validate what you hear on and off campus.   Be yourself!

Tell us something about you:  I am a 3rd generation educator (It’s in my blood)!  This is my 11th year at MV.  Prior to this I was a: middle school counselor, high school teacher, and swim coach.  Outside of MV, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids, running, and taking advantage of everything Tahoe has to offer.

Tips for success at Monte Vista: MVHS is a larger school, therefore the more you can get involved and create connection in clubs, music, sports, etc. the more well-rounded and enjoyable your high school experience can be.

Tell us something about you: I worked as a Counselor at a large urban high school in Chicago for 5 years before moving to California and joining the MV counseling team in 2013. I am an avid runner and love to travel all over the world.
